Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and symptoms, communicating any significant changes to the healthcare team
- Assist with diagnostic tests and follow-up appointments, ensuring patients receive appropriate care
- Collaborate with registered nurses and doctors to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding healthcare procedures and self-care techniques
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist in wound care, dressing changes, and other routine medical procedures
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of patient rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Adhere to infection control protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe and sterile environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance nursing skills
- 3+ years' acute care experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Advanced CPR certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Continuing education in specialized areas of nursing
- Valid LPN license and registration in the State of Tennessee
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
- Excellent knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and standards of care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with the ability to provide emotional support to patients
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
